Default All I know is that 'topping off' your tank is not recommended because

eventually, the overflow will clog the EVAP canister forcing replacement. Perhaps yours is ready for replacement now, maybe because the purge valve was bad?

This is not meant to be accusatory, just that I have never heard anything else about the canister.

Good point. I do usually run my tank up to the nearest 25 or 50 cents. Time to stop that. Thanks.
