Default Its funny how much of an impact a commute has on the rest of the day

Case in point:

Situation 1:
- Run out the house late.
- 15 minutes driving through little mexico, multi-colored and bashed 4runners abound.
- 45 minutes on I-496 cursing at dump trucks, the 3 year new median project, and the other 50 million cars on the road.
- 15 minutes of I-270, still tense from 495 but moving at a good clip.
TOTAL: 1hr, hungry and tense.

Situation 2:
- Casually Pickup cup of double chocolate coffee at neighborhood indie coffee shop. The barista is wearing a cute short red dress.
- 20 minutes at 70 mph on gorgeous GW parkway, playing with a Denim Blue TT the whole way. Channel 8.0 on FRS. Occasionally glancing at the river shining under morning sun.
- 15 minutes of I-270, still at a good clip.
TOTAL: 35-40 minutes, rested and ready to start the day.

Default invoking BS

weaving through traffic, especially on 193 and 495 is exactly what you do. I've followed a couple times, but would rather chill and use the extra time. Also, the earlier you leave, the longer the commute is (high tide at 8am).

Either way, my commute to and from work is 20 times better and there is nothing you can say that will change that. So there!

Twice in the last 3 years have you passed me on your way to work. Once on 193 and once at the spur. We've played once as well. I also commute an additional 5 miles to gaith/germantown.
