Local NoVa drivers watch out. I'm cursed today. 2 wrecks happened in front of me.
This morning NO ONE was paying attention to Yield signs. At all.
Some poor guy(in an Audi) in front of me was going straight through a light, then about 20 yards beyond the intersection there is a lane that merges with ours, with a Yield.
Well Mr, I'm-more-important-than-you-so-I'm-not-yielding decided to pay no attention to the sign and just go, and ran straight into the rear-panel of the Audi. (Mr. Schmuckyness was in one of those MB SL's) And then the MB driver proceeded to yell at the Audi driver that HE had the right of way. I wrote my name and address on the back of a business card and told the Audi driver I saw what happened, I'd be a witness, and to get a police report.(wonder if he's on here?) Mr. Snooty MB driver glared at me.
Then later on the same road, there is a section where the tollroad exit (2 lanes) merges with our road. The left hand lane has a stop on red sign. The right hand lane has a yield sign so they can go straight and then turn right at the light that is 30 yards ahead. But some people take this to mean that they can plow through the yield and move over 3 to 4 lanes. In RUSH HOUR TRAFFIC.
Ms. Soccer Mom in a lexus decides to do this, without even LOOKING. If I hadn't slammed on my brakes, she would have plowed right into me. And by slamming on my brakes, I almost got plowed into myself. Grrrrr.
She looked SO confused/dazed. OFF THE ROAD B!TCH! IF YOU CAN'T HANDLE MERGING -- DON't DRIVE!!!!!
Then at lunch --
Mr. I'm a douchebag GTi driver decided that the stop sign on his side of the service road didn't mean anything, and the fact that the main road had a green light to go straight was irrelevant.
So he goes straight, as we go straight. Sure enough, the civic 2 cars ahead of me can't see him (cars are in the way) and BANG!
GTi does a loveeeely 360. Stupid.

(The traffic light is sideways. So sue me)

Nice weather is directly proportional to the abundance of non-drivers. :/
Sometimes I wish I had a video camera permanently mounted and continuously running in my car...or I was a State cop. :/

Love the drawing! You should post your story on VWVortex and see if the GTI driver confesses.
If he's there...then again, they might just say it was the Civic's fault.

It's not just NoVa...
I found this at my local supermarket today in La Jolla, CA. The lengths people go to for a space near the door is unbelievable...

This brings new meaning to "stacked parking." (OK, I'll stop now.)
Now, I know Mythbusters will be testing a Knight Rider myth next week, but someone should have told this woman that "ski mode" was a special effect. (OK, I lied.)
