Default So, if I'm a mechanic and certified by the state of VA to perform safety inspections

and the first thing I see when I take the customer's car in to the shop is this error light on the cluster
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/40962/img_2375.jpg">

revealing outer brake pads (which are visible without taking the wheel off) that look like this
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/40962/img_2369.jpg">

or upon closer inspection...
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/40962/img_2382.jpg">

I don't think it's prudent to put this on the customer's window
<img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/40962/img_2383.jpg">

But if you are going to put that sticker on the window AT LEAST PUT IT ON STRAIGHT AND LINED UP WITH THE TAX STICKER AND DON'T PEEL AWAY PART OF MY TAX STICKER TO GET THE OLD INSPECTION STICKER OFF <B>YFF!</B>

I never bothered taking off the track pads from VIR. Figured I'd use them up rather than just throwing them away. Putting my street pads back on will take me 3 minutes, but why bother right now. Don't get me wrong, I'm glad the car passed, but still. Makes ya wonder if they're really inspecting cars or not.

Default Well, would you rather they fail you and put that pretty pink sticker on there?

Default Ha, had the pink sticker gone on there, it would have been peeled right off

I felt like such a reject when those clowns at Craven failed my Civic all for nothing reasons.

Default Shoulda had the pads in the trunk with you, so when they failed you

you could have swapped them in really quick. IN FRONT of them.

Default ha, I actually thought about that

then figured they'd give me lip about using their shop or some nonsense. This place was right by the house, I could have driven home, done the brakes, and been back in thirty minutes too.

Default well, they're not all the sharpest tacks in the box, now are they? :-P

surprised you didn't get a list of "we can fix that" :-P

They did that on my A4 when I had it inspected after WG. They wanted like $500+ to do my front brakes, and they weren't even using the right rotor (not that they would have noticed I had bigger A8 rotors not A4 rotors on the car). Gotta love it.
