Default Some wheel tech info for you all today...

RRT (Road Race Technologies located in Chantilly, VA) has these nifty wheel studs for race/track applications... So instead of lining up our wheels with the holes in the hub, you just slide them on the studs and tighten the nuts on top...

Very pimp. I was just reminded of them from a link that Matt Devo sent me for this guide pin...

Anyone interested in a Group Buy on the stud sets?

Default Yeah, they really are useful...

Scott12v@pghaudi has the H&R wheel studs on his A4 and his CQ. I'm pretty jealous of the ease he can swap wheels, but since I'm not tracking my car yet, I'll hold off and just deal with my lug bolts.

His A4:

Loctite is highly recommended with this application.

Default These RRT studs are even better... they have a lip that the nut slides onto first...

so its super easy to thread the nut, and you can't cross thread them.

I find it hard to believe that is a 5 minute conversion

the conversion takes about 2 hours but once it is done you only have one nut to take off

Default I am familiar with what a single nut setup is

I'd have to be pretty hardcore to consider a 2 hour coversion in the morning vs. one that takes about 1 minute per wheel (and another minute at the end of the day).
