Default Washington,DC to Deadhose, Alaska...That could be fun?

I've been thinking, isn't it odd that there hasn't been a Cannonball/Gumball run to the northern most point you can drive in Alaska?

I think I want to do this drive at some point in my life. Any takers?

<a href="http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&hl=en&saddr=washington+dc&dad dr=deadhorse,+AK&sll=47.990025,-115.47237&sspn=80.170637,163.476563&layer= &ie=UTF8&z=4&ll=59.888937,-124.716797&spn=30.891941,81.738

Very cool. Now just to find time to do it around work. I figure 2 weeks would be adequate.

Most of the Alaska highway is still gravel. Hundreds of miles on gravel would get old fast.

You'd need a good SUV to handle that. The usual Cannonball/Gumball cars probably would break.
