whirling noise with windows down ... my guess is wheel bearings??? is this a DIY on a scale of 1-10

does the noise intensify when taking corners?
Also, is the noise consistent when you put the car in neutral and let it idle while rolling?
If yes to both, it's probably bearings.
IMO NOT a DIY...even if someone has a press, they could still press them in incorrectly and send you back for new ones after a few K miles.

I get an rpm affected noise only when its wet/raining from the wheels and a slight vibration..
only since I put my summer wheels/tires back on, but they were rebalanced right before. any ideas?
sounds similar to the loud engine noise when you downshift to a lower gear but its coming from the wheels.
scared the hell out of me the first time, I pulled over but couldnt see anything wrong.
I think its the rear wheels which have new (used but new to me) tires from rfan.
only happens when its raining and the roads are wet.
