WTF--> Car won't pass safety inspection cause of Ecodes . . .
the guy also bitched about how low it was, but i played stupid and told him it was all stock. obviously the Ecodes, don't say DOT approved on them, so now i have no clue what to do? oh yeah, i'm in VA. what do you other people do for this? or have the places just not noticed? thanks.

inspections suck.... see if a buddy with an a4 will lend you his headlights ;)
only option i can think of. i dunno if VA insp. are run only by state or also done at private shops. a private shop might pass it. might cost ya some kickback money tho

mots folks dont have to get the car inspected like you did. only after they trade or sell.
but what happened to the originals.
and where did you take it where the guy actually looked for a DOT engraving?

Stock headlights from 98 and before? like the old crappy ones? ...
cause i have my OEM lights, but there will be a huge gap in the fender, and it prob still won't pass
