Xpost: Noob wants PSK rear swaybar installed on 2001 A6
Hey gang...
Can you recommend any good shop in MD?-rockville, silver spring etc.
also How long does it take to install @ shop/dealer?
I have an appointment w/ AuroWerke in Rockville and they told me around $180 for installation and $140 for the part.
It seems like installation labor is a lit too high. What you guys think??

It's actually not that hard (I'm not a DIY'er myself)...
...but after I watched them install my sways, I figured it was something I could do myself had I the tools/equipment. Lots of folks on this forum that ARE DIY'ers, and would be willing to lend a hand. Some of these mod days are very informative.

FWIW.....
We charge $225 for both front & rear sway bar install on an A6/allroad/A4/S4. $150 for just rear. IIRC H sport sways run $379 for the pair, and IMO are the best option for that car. They're also the only manufacturer that's been smart enough to put grease fittings on thier bushing retainers.

Some places don't want to bother with less than 1 hour of labor.
It's a one hour do-it-yourself job (with the right tools, etc.). I did it myself. It was not THAT easy. You need to get the rear lifted, but you can't have the suspension hanging. I ended up getting jackstands under the suspension arms. It was a tedious, multi-step process.
If I were you, I'd get H-sport bars (front & back) and have them installed at Pro-Imports in Gaithersburg. Good shop, and good people to know.

I definitely don't have tools...and for H-sports
I'm concerns about warrenty issues-means I will not install any aftermarket shock or springs soon.-so not sure it's good idea to istall h-sport only.

now that the weather is starting to warm up a bit...
...just keep monitoring this forum and someone should post a mod day soon.
Or, if you're not comfortable w/ DIY, check out Induktion (Hanover, MD). Good folks up there. Another local independent shop is ProImports (Gaithersburg), but I've no experience with them.
