Indy Mechanic in Des Moines, IA area?

I went for a little trip down to the Audi dealer to talk to them about inspecting my car (I've got some weird clunking noises coming from my front end when braking) and they wanted $150 just for an inspection!!

f-that. I need to either find someone who's got a garage and good with Audi's where I can bring my car and a six pack of beer to work on it, or I need to find a decent indy mechanic who won't charge me so much just to check the car out.

try asking in the B5 A4 forum. there's at least a few on there who are from Iowa.

The Des Moines dealer - Lithia VW/Audi/Infiniti - is basically worthless.

yup, I went there and actually left feeling dumber. Then I got HuHot and was okay! ...

I'm going to check out the "Campus Garage" right in Ames on the corner of Lincoln and Hyland. A few other german car owners I know in the area recommended them.
