1990 Audi 100 Help
Ok I have 3 questions for you Audi 100 owners out there like myself. #1 Im thinking about going with an aftermarket Radio, but i heard that sometimes after doing this the honk or beep will turn off after locking the car meaning the alarm isnt armed. I was also looking if they could use the same existing speaker covers for the new speakers, because I have tan interior so if I had black speakers sticking out that would look prertty ugly. #2 Is there an oil light on the Audi? A light when the oil is low, I dont remember reading or ever seeing one. #3 Lastly what kind of oil do you put in your 100? Synthetic? The delear puts in Castrol I have no idea if thats snthetic or not, and me and my dad have always used Penzoil. Well any help would be appreciated....Thank you

I'm not sure about any alarm issues the 100's had with aftermarket radios, but as long as you use the same size speakers your covers should fit. Your car ought to have an oil light too, almost every car has one to warn of low pressure. Synthetic works wonders for the Audis, I'd definitely recommend it Mobil 1 or Castrol Syntec. Your dealer puts dino oil in it, dealers never ever use synthetic(unless it's Porsche or M-B, makes that come with the stuff, it's too expensive otherwise). If you supply it, though, they will put it in for you on request.

You have an oil pressure warning in the AutoCheck display, and an oil pressure gauge. More..........
The Autocheck display will show an oil can picture and beep if there is zero oil pressure. There is no issue with the factory alarm versus aftermarket radios, as long as you ground the single female spade terminal connector / wire which was connected to a male spade terminal which was on the back of the original radio metal chassis. This wire (if ungrounded) will set off the alarm, triggered by the removal of the radio. The alarm may not arm if this wire is not grounded.
