5000s ignition cutoff switch
i bought an 86 5000s avant (i say avant because it sounds better than wagon). and i was pissed about a little (what i thought was) stupid modification under the dash on the drivers side.
As it turns out, the cheap chrome toggle switch under my dash is a stock option. It's even on the original window sticker for the car.
This just seems like a bad idea to me, it serves little purpose, and is only onw more elctrical connection that will eventually fail.
