I have a 1992 100S with an automatic transmission. For the past year or so it's been giving me problems and I really hope that it's not the transmission. I don't really know much about cars to be honest. When the problem first started it was worse, much worse, and has gotten better but not gone away. It started on a long trip where the car was driven sometimes at speeds up to 130 MPH. The problem is that it sputters, like it doesn't get the gas or accelerate when you give it gas. I've had it serviced a couple of times and it still does it. I think the mechanics have changed various hoses and cleaned the fuel injectors and done whatever else is done on a routine service. It usually has the problem when you try to accelerate from a stop. It's like it takes a while to get through to the car that you want it to go and then all of a sudden zooms off. I'd be interested if anyone has any idea what it is that might be the problem.

GAlexander,
It sounds like you might need to have your oxygen sensors replaced. My car did the same thing at about 75K miles until I replaced the sensors. You'll have to go to a mechanic with an Audi compatable computer to find out.<p>David Lipman
