A6 update...

does anyone know when and what the A6 update will be. the 2.8 engine is just not strong enough. will they be offereing the 3.7 or the 4.2 or even the S6?? anyone with info?? tia

I seem to remember that C&D stated the 227 HP biturbo will be out in the spring. No word on torque but it shold be quite a bit more than the standard 2.8. S6 will be a 2000 or even 2001 model. It will have the 340 HP engine from the S8 in it. What a ride that will be.Bob D., 98.5 1.8TQM

WRONG....WRONG!.......THESE ARE THE 2 NEW ENGINES

PRODUCTION IN MAY 99 OF A 2.7 260BHP AND THE NEW 40V 4.2 310BHP.

In U.S. trim, S4 makes 265HP and A6 biturbo makes 230HP

Hello Nick, I'm very curious. Who gives you information about this strange new engines??? I work at AUDI AG Ingolstadt, Germany and I have NEVER heart about those modifications, so believe me, whoever you told you about a 40V 310 hp engine - this person just wanted to show off.There'll be a S6, that's correct. But until this, the top-engine in the A6 is the 2.7 litres biturbo with 230 hp which is available in Germany since August. Friendly regards, Manuel Hoffmann Industrial Business Man at AUDI AG
