ADVICE? - 1990 audi coupe?
Anyone have experience with this car? Looks beautiful, but seems a bit underpowered. If anyone has firsthand driving experience with one I'd love to hear how you liked it...

Re: ADVICE? - 1990 audi coupe?
I owned an '86 Coupe, it was a great car but the 90-on ones are even better. Two of my brothers drive the newer CQ's. One has a '90 CQ and the other is a '91 CQ. You're right, the power is not that great (0-60) but it's a good highway driver. The handling is very good and the car is solidly built. It has every conceivable option, even more than my '95 90S so in some respects it's a better car. I'm used to the smoothness of a V6 so to me the engine seems a little 'buzzy' but it's still a very nice ride compared to most cars. I don't think you'd go wrong in buying one. Both of their cars have been running great and except for usual maintence they haven't had any problems with it. In fact, if I didn't have a need for 4 doors I would have bought one instead of the 90S. Just make sure you do the stuff that you'd normally do when buying a used car and if everything checks out ok, you'll be fine.

I almost bought one of these last fall. But I didn't know the service history on the car so I didn't buy it. These came loaded with tons of options, stock headlights suck as usual. Just check the usual things, ABS, Bomb, timing belt, try to get any service records so you know if was taken care of. They are pretty rare cars, only about 1500 of these in N/A (correct me if wrong). Too bad we didn't get the S2.

I think the total for '90 & '91 was around 2,000 units, very rare, very beautiful

I own its identical twin, the 91 90q20v
Define slow.
Actually, once you wind it out (7k red line) it pulls great. Not a lot of torque, though. Stays with a 944, basically.
Great fun to drive. Good exhaust note, nice gearbox. And the involvement of winding it out makes it MORE fu than my new S4biturbo in that regard.
I dont find 7.8s -> 60 slow.
But dont expect to win stoplight derbys. I think its rated at 162 HP/22,000 rpms and 3 ft-lbs of torque down low.
