Can you help with this question?
Hello to you, Audi fans.
I am writing to you seeking desperate help concerning my father's car , an '89 200 Turbo ( No quattro, Automatic ). After having a good mechanic ( and personal friend ) that carried all the work on the car ,he is now left in the world where nobody knows about this car. His friend closed the garage and moved to Texas, so my father has seeking someone who knows Audis in the Miami area, where he lives. (Latest) Problem is an electrical one ( really!?!)....actually, is the first electrical problem he has. The A/C compressor ( new), blows off the fuse ( or relay ) of the cooling fan and (or ) vice-versa. When the A/C compressor works, the cooling fan won't start and the fuse blows, letting down the wiper motor, turn signals and others. For the cooling fan to work, the fuse of these elements must be removed(!!!??!!). Is a trivial one, isn't?.
My concern is where to bring the car....He took it to a mechanic, and this guy gave him the car back after three weeks ( and a box full of burnt fuses ) and told him that he couldn't find the problem. Next, he took it to a Dealer ( I was afraid of this ), and guess what? They told him they would have to change the complete electrical system worth of ......3.000$
!!!!!
So my question is as follows. Do you know any expert, or at least, any good mechanic that specializes in Audi in the Miami area? Anyone who can stop the massacre some mechanics are doing to (old) Audis?
I would really appreciate in someone knows about this.
Well, hope to hear from you soon. Thanks a lot and keep up the good work. I think you're Website is super!!!
By the way, the car is in excellent shape: Has 113.000 milles and
everythink works perfectly. Is an '89 canadian model with even power heated
( from and back ) seats. Try to help the stop of the older Audis decline!!!<p>Jason E. Teller
