low idle?
i have a '95 90. when i come to a stop or am coasting(foot off the brake but no gas), my car seems to feel like it wants to die! the rpms seem to live around 600 or so. i am at wits end with the places that ive taken it to, and my last chance at sanity is this forum! could someone please advise me on what the possible cause of this problem may be, and how to fix it. all help will be greatly appreciated. thank you.

Sounds like my old Coupe Quattro - check the idle stabilizer
MY Coupe had the DOHC 5-cyl. but I think the cause is similar to yours. There is a unit called an "idle stabilizer" which bypasses air around the throttle plate at idle. This bypass is controlled from teh fuel injector computer. On my Coupe, this unit went bad, resulting in the engine dying whenever I lifted off the gas completely with car in neutral. If let RPM drop very slowly, would go to a normal idle.
