Default as far as I know, an Audi dealer is only place to get the OEM key. i doubt a "switchblade" key......

could be made/programmed for each Audi, especially since those are radio-like frequencies for the remote key-less entry, which isn't the same on my 90. I would think the entire system would have to be replaced. If you find out otherwise, please let me know because I'd like to have one of those instead of this huge knife-like key in my pocket.

Default Yeah, the sidewinder keys only work on the new Audis.(more)

It's not so much an issue of keyless entry frequency, but you'd have to get all the door locks, the trunk lock, the glove box lock, and ignition lock all replaced, and I don't think they're compatible. The reason for this is the sidewinder keys are flat on the edges with a groove cut out of the middle, instead of jagged edges like a standard key. Therefore, they won't fit a standard ignition lock, and the blanks are pre-cut with the groove in the center, kind of like 'normal' key blanks are rough-cut. So it'd be more trouble than it's worth just for a key to get them, if it's even possible.

Default Go to the local Audi dealer...

they have the factory blanks there and will happily make you a key for anywhere between $4-7 a piece. Prices will vary depending on the local dealers yacht payments

Also, those guys are right about the switchblade keys. You cannot use those for your car...
