Ongoing 5000 hesitation problems...
Car will hesitate when I take off if I do not let it warm-up for at least a couple off minutes. Then all of a sudden wham, shes off to the races. Will run smoothly untill I shut her off again, unless I really start pushing her and then thier seems to be what I can only describe as "flat spots" in the rev range. Also car mixture keeps getting out of whack and has to be reset. Then it runs fine for a day or two and were back to square one. The car has had a tune up about 10,000 miles ago and the fuel pump is not buzzing. Am I looking at a clogged fuel filter or possibly bad injectors...even vacum leaks? What would the symptoms be? My mechanic thinks it is probably the injectors but he has yet to look at the car. Any ideas?

Some thoughts...
A good (easy) place to start is checking for vacuum leaks.
Was the O2 sensor replaced recently? If its been a while, it's a likely suspect too.
When you refer to the "mixture keeps getting out of whack and has to be reset", are you talking about adjusting the airflow sensor plate?
Doubtful it's injector problems unless you're constantly experiencing poor/rough start/idle conditions, especially when hot.
Also doubtful it's the fuel filter, or f/pump.
A faulty FPR (fuel pressure regulator) will cause the hesitation, but I would suspect you would experience it more frequently than you describe.
