Default Possible to convert to power seats?

I can get a complete set of grey leather seats and door panels from a 1993 Audi 90CS for $50.00, sounds like a good deal to me. My drivers seat is a manual one, where the new one is a power seat. Is there a way to convert from manual to power? The rear sliding track is the same for the two different seats, I am just wondering about the front mounting points of the power seat. My motive for change is the fact that I love Audi's leather seats, as my mom's 90CS has 'em. Nice and comfy. Death to the velour seats!!! BTW, my car is a '92 Audi 80.

Default Yes you can....

The correct front bracket will have to welded on. Other than that the rails should be the same as you said. Then all thats left is the wiring for the electrics and seat heaters, which I cannot help you with...

Default Hmmm...

Now I am encouraged... Is it possible to order this front mounting bracket from an Audi dealership? I've got a friend who can weld it on, just need to find the mentioned bracket. I can handle the electrical wiring though. =)

Default Get the bracket from the same car thats donating the seats...

if you can. If not you'll have to check the dealer$ or look for one from a scraped car. Good luck!

Default While we're on the topic of power seats....

My '91 90 power seats - or at least the driver's seat feels like it's loose. Seems to rock just a tad under acceleration, know what I mean? Haven't really gotten underneath to check, but are these seats bolted to the floor like a conventional(?) American car? Or not - or, is there just some play in the track set-up possibly?

Take this opportunity to say thanks for this site and everyone who contributes. Talk about learning and laughing!

Default Yes, the seats are bolted down at the front...

The power seats are bolted down by two bolts. They can be accessed by running the seat back as far as it will go, and then removing the two black plastic covers that are over the "feet" of the seat. The bolts have a head that accepts a larger size allen wrench. The rear side of the seat slides in a track, and there is no adjustment for it, AFAIK.

Hope this helps!
