Thanks for the info! Now that's something that's affordable. I just hate taking my car in and they say that something EXPENSIVE has to be done to fix the problem....a common experience with Audi's!

Oh yes...all the parts are expensive on these things!!!
A word of warning:
Don't let them try talking you into a new alternator? It's a slipping belt...if it was a problem with alternator it would have become worse when it got colder!!! The belts on the alternators have to be very tight!!!

Thank you so much for that bit of advice! From past experience, I know that they probably would have tried to replace the alternator on me. I think their favorite line to use on us older Audi owners is "once you replace ------ then your car will last a long long time".) (and then they want to rebuild your car!)
