I looked into after-market exhausts for my A4. The general descriptions were: Stebro and scorpion are loudest, then Remus, with Supersprint the quietest. This referred to both interior and exterior sound levels. Remus was the most $$, and Supersprint the best built and fitment.
Don't know how this applies to the A6. I presume you are after a rear-muffler only, and not a cat-back.
