I hope to hell you got the five year warranty...
The final drives are for crap, poor metallurgy, needle bearing failures. Cost about $3500 just in parts to replace.
I went to a BWM bike rally this past weekend and rode the bike that will be next in the stable...

From what i've read, these really aren't nearly as bad as the newer
R1200GS's and such. guess we'll see... No warranty though. It's just shy of 14k, dealer just installed new Pilot Road 2cts and did the 12k service (i'm sure you know replaces all fluids on the bike, valve check, air filter, maybe plugs, and a bunch of little things), i'm hoping its a good bike.
