What if Audi made motorcycles? Well... back in the day, THEY DID!
Finally going through lots of my photography archives and uploading them to flickr. These were shot at the vintage races at the Speedway during Daytona Bike Week 2005. Enjoy!

Technically its a DKW...
back then Auto Union was like GM is today - the parent company for various, distinctive brands. The rings represented each brand in the "union", Audi being one of them, DKW, Horsch, and Wanderer being the other three. At that point in time, I don't think they did much in cross engineering, so Audi probably had nothing to do with that bike at the time.
It wasn't until the 60's, I think, when all the other brands had gone away and Audi was the only one left that they adopted the Auto Union rings as the Audi company logo.
Also in the '60s Auto Union owned NSU, which made motorcycles as well if I remember correctly.
But it's a cool find and is probably the closest you could come to owning an Audi motorcycle. If I found one for sale and had the money, I'd buy it for the connection to Audi.
