Why wouldnt they install speed limiters on bikes like they do on cars?

They do
i thought i read one or all the Kawi 1400s are limited, i thought the busa was limited, and some say the sv and DL 1000s have an ecu that pulls timing in 6th to limit it to around 130 or so. i could be wrong though. Most bikes are just drag limited though. My VFR would hit an indicated 153 and that's all it would do, a few grand from redline.

Third. Although it's less of a "limiter" and more programming of the ECU.
It limits ignition in 6th gear when it reaches a certain RPM so the engine won't spin up enough. A lot of places make a "cheater box" that fools the bike in to thinking it's in a different gear...or you can just get a piggyback ignition controller.
Regarding what Carder said...don't you think it's ridiculous that we have bikes that are speed limited?? I mean, seriously...like any of us would be less dead because our bike will do 192mph instead of 186mph?? I think it's totally unnecassary and just dumb.
