Maybe it's my damned FIOS, but I get the sense that he had a bit of an off year. The Koni VWs never got over their teething pains. And even if they did, they were not the level of car that he deserves to drive.
I really want to seem him move into the ALMS GT level. He's certainly good enough, and he's earned it.

The APR GTI's were first year cars and he won the Speed GT Championship for the second time in
a row and third time in five years.
He also drove Stevenson in their Pontiac GXP last year in Rolex GT
He has many options, but we are still weighing them.
He will be back with KPax, though they are running Volvo's next year in Speed WC GT.
He will not be back with APR Motorsport and the GTi's next year.
He is not a huge fan of racing in ALMS due to the schedule involved. He cannot miss any races for KPax and the same can be said for any competitive ALMS team, hence his staying with 3R and KPax.

KPax seems to be a good team. Will the Volvos be AWD? More importantly, will they...
... be competitive!?!?
Sorry I missed the SPeed GT thing. I blame FIOS. I could NOT get the damned thing to pick up the series. Out of sight, out of mind.
And I know the APR issues were the cars, not Randy. But it does highlight an issue associated with first year cars. Like the Volvos?

AWD Turbocharged. More like GA Prep 2, meaning similar to the Cadillac CTSV's that run.
Should be competitive. Have been being built all season vs the APR cars being built between Oct and Nov of last year on short notice.
3R Racing builds some great cars and they are building the Volvos.
Cars will likely be pretty good, but will obviously suffer some teething.
Team harmony and friendship are very important to Randy, hence he really likes and wants to stay with KPax.

After reading your last sentence about Randy...a thought came to me...that after
Randy retires from racing..he ought to teach young new, and some older drivers...how to be a good teammate besides a great driver. He has a lot to offer young drivers starting out. Some of the drivers are such diva's that you can't stand them. But Randy is a breathe of fresh air.
