Unless the driver is 6' 5" and passenger a foot taller, only the top of our heads can be seen from the outside - excellent for taller drivers he he.

Hopefully, I et this sorted out soon. BTW, stock manual seat weighs 44lbs, the power one (driver seat) weighs about 55 lbs - couldn't hold it there right. But the replacement seat weighs 16 lbs and the brackets 10lbs each - jeez they are heavy brackets. All in all 52 pounds for the seats replacing about 100lbs for AutoX and race track use only. Actually, I am after the lateral support, lightness comes as a bonus. Plus I can keep the schroth harnesses with the racing seats only - still installed in the door pillar.

Default We'll see. I don't like the way they are set up right now, plus my GF may nit like them as I can

barely mash the pedals down, and she's a tad shorter

Default I opted for these because of price and weight, plus they are temporary - something I can swap in/out

in an hour prior to a track event - and maybe use on a different car. I was looking at some momo's, but their price and construction will just make me want to leave them in there, loosing the power seat option, but they were just a tad lighter than these fixed bucket type seats. We'll see. Frey Racing is working with me.

Default Just got a call from frey Racing, Corbeau wants my brackets back with some notes on adjustment...

They will work with me on the fitting. Hope that works out ok - and hope I don't have to wait forever again

Default With power seats it's a chore, with standard seats...

Recaro makes a slider (they make the stock one anyways) that falls right in. Pull off the channel end caps, pull the front track pin, bingo seat folds out of the front door. I mounted the Recaro aluminum side plates to the track, then the seat to the side plates. I'm 6-2 and I was able to play with the mounting enough to get about 2" of head room with my helmet on in a sunroof car. It slides back and forth and is mounted using a back brace to a four point roll bar. As far as comfort goes I like it much better then the stock sport seats. If you want to really feel what your car is doing you can pull the padding and sit in the shell. Lots of information in real time.

Default Which R's do you have?

I'm curious about a seat that is truly dual purpose with removable padding. (Love the spg, but the SO hates it.)

Default Yeah it took me about 15 minutes to swap the manual (passenger side) seat. the power one is a bit

of a pain specially with those wire connectors at the bottom and the fact that it weighs 55 lbs (54 + plus my thumb balancing it on the scale

Aluminum sliders - awesome. How much does the whole system weigh?
