Audi safety cars at Nurburgring
Did anyone notice the Audi safety cars during the F1 European GP at Nurburgring? The F1 safety car is a CL, but the track safety car was an Audi wagon.
-Chicago Joe (2000 Laser Red S4M)

Could've won the race in all that rain! Ok, not.
Yeah, I saw that too. Ack!! On the West Coast, European F1 races are live at 4:30am. Yes, I have heard of videotape.
Audis are showing up all over these days. It may have been mentioned before but I believe I saw an Imola S4 as the pace car for the SCCA Trans Am race at Mosport.
As an obscure and useless side note, Bruce Qvale (sp?), one of the owners of the Mangusta driven by Brian Simo in Trans Am, is also an owner of Livermore Honda/Subaru/Audi in SF Bay Area.
Alan G

bruce qvale *is* the owner owner of the mangusta company itself!
I believe he is the one involved in reintroducing the DeTomaso Mangusta Spider or whatever they are calling it now. I think they had a falling out recently.
I saw the Audi in question but it looked like an A6 Avant to me, I guess I must not have been paying as much attention.

DeTomaso produced the Pantera, et. al.
And Qvale built the Mangusta with DeTomaso badging. After the falling out, Qvale simply dropped the DeTomaso badges. The DeTomaso and Qvale badges are like across town from each other, in Italy.
-Chicago Joe
