Default BFG R-1 (not g-Force) pressures (225/50/16)?

I just picked up a set of R-1s (not g-Forces) from Turner Motorsports- it was their last set! Can't wait to try them at LRP in April. What pressures (cold) should I start with and end with (hot)?

Thanks,
Mike O.

You didn't identify what kind of car you have, but I'll give you my thoughts, for what they're worth. I used to run the old R1's on a Porsche 911, and I ran 26/28 front/rear cold. This wound up being about 34/36 front/rear hot. Depending on what the pressure distribution should be for your particular car, run them in this range. Some people will tell you to run them lower - as low as 20 pounds cold, but don't do it. If you do, you'll discover the dreaded "Groove of Doom," where the tires wear out in the middle first.

Btw, they're great tires - you're really going to like them.

I ran R-1's at LRP on my A4 a couple of years ago and I think I started at 32lbs on all four corners. Depending on the day you might have to lower this a few lbs. just watch the shoulder wear. A lot of the Porsche guys have a formula for different pressures on all four corners. LRP is basically an oval so the left front does alot of work.

Default Car setup...

98.5 A4 1.8TQMS
Modified (IHI) K04
extrude honed exhaust manifold
TAP intercooler
MTM intercooler duct
Samco hoses
second cold air intake for airbox
Stebro cat back (I am considering the TAP cat/downpipe)
H&R/Bilsteins
C-Tech pads on powerslots

The car ran 1:09s and 1:10s last year at LRP with my old ~210hp setup on the sports suspension and Dunlop SP8000Es. Any thoughts on what it will run with this setup?

Mike your not keeping times at a Quattro event are you? I couldn't guess your anticipated improvment, but out of all that stuff the tires will mean the most. See you in May and we'll find out.
