Default Greg, have you considered (or already ruled out) towing a tire trailer?

Like what I do w/ my lil' Miata? Make your track car into the tow vehicle. ...minimal additional investment (space, $init$, $recurring$ & effort) at this point. Allows you to bring more stuff to the track (of course, not as much as the other options), and you can always sell it when you're ready to move up to the big daddy towing scheme.

Default Still looking for one, but

I may have found an 8 tire trailer through the COM forums out in central MA, but I'm still waiting for the guy to send pictures. I don't plan to have the hitch on the car until January anyway.

Heading up to Derry on Saturday morning to get my exhaust and a used rain RA1/wheel setup from the guy I bought my car from. Cage painting is almost done; just have to do some touch-up tonight.

Default I can get 4 track tires plus stuff into the 944.

I'm looking for a way to keep the wear-and-tear off the car, and a means to get the car home if I have a technical issue at the track. I'm not all that serious about the dolly. Good ones are expensive. But it fills a very useful niche in that it lets me trailer the car without a heavy duty truck. I was thinking about how silly it was to have a trailer structure to tow a vehicle that already has all the components needed to roll!

(PS: I can get LOTS of stuff plus tires if I use the passenger/front seat of the 944. I had that space filled with Roger on the way to VIR! Having Roger in the co-pilot seat is cheaper than XM, but not in stereo.)
