LeMans

Talk is that development $$$
are going into the car which will meet the revised specs for LeMans next year. So, rather than spend the $$ on the team for 2003, they spent it on development for 2004.
Honestly, it's nice to see them win, but who are they competing against? Watching a werks team beat up a privateer (when they all run the same cars) is boring. Like a ton of 962s and 956s fighting it out.
Put Porsche and BMW in there and it's interesting. Now...its a matter of hoping that something doesn't fail, they don't hit anyone, or don't get a penalty.

VW also spent a heap of dough buying Bentley...
...and if you listen to what the marketing boys have to say, claiming a Le Mans win for Bentley is crucial to a sales turnaround for Bentley. And if Bentley wins, then Audi cannot.
