Need some opinions on autocross setup...
I have a 2000 TT Quatrro with some mods, power is pretty muched tapped out without serious $$, I run Koni single adj. with Eibach springs. Not the most aggressive setup, but streetable, which matters. I'm looking for the next step in handling, and can't decide what would be a better investment at this point. Should I get a big brake kit, which will allow me to dive deeper, and provide less unsprung weight? Or should I get a camber kit for the front to allow me to dial in about -2.5 (maxed at about -1.3 now)? At this point, I can't do both, unless someone knows of a great deal on some brakes
Thanks
Ben
Thanks

For what class? What are you using for tires?
I would move brakes down to the bottom of your list of mods to do. If anything, get some stickier pads.
As far as mods, I'd work on the soft thing that holds the steering wheel :-P Take an autox school like Evolution. The things you learn there will knock off the most time for your timed runs, more than brakes, tires, chip, etc. Plus, what you learn is transferrable from car to car.
If the Evolution driving school is out of consideration, the next thing would be to get the stickiest tires you can use.

SM, Victoracers.
Of course the driver can always use the most improvement. I run carbotech bobcats all around. there aren't any auto-x schools in my immediate area (Sacramento, CA). My school is experience. I've been doing this about 4 years, and like to think I'm getting to the point where suspension setup will actually matter

not yet, good idea. problem is most of the really good drivers in my area
are in high hp rear drivers. the dynamics of my car might cause them to be slower. regardless, i'll try it next time around...

I think they can show you that you leave a lot of time on the table.
Even if the good drivers come from very different cars, I'll bet they're still good enough they'll embarrass you in your own car =(
I too have been autoxing for over 4 years and I know there's a ton to learn. =(
