Default RACE RESULTS INSIDE - Please do not post in subject line for those who want to watch the race

For Immediate Release

May 21, 2006

STaSIS Motorsports has best team performance in 5 year history at Mid Ohio.

After qualifying 2nd behind Pierre Klienubig, Chip Herr took the win after jumping out in front at the start of the race. Piloting his brand new Mahle powered STaSIS B7 A4 quattro through three full course yellows and several attempts by Klienubig to take the lead, Chip took his first career World Challenge win. After the race Chip commented," The whole team worked really hard to get to this point and STaSIS has build a first rate car that should allow me to be competitive all year long." Chip now stands in 3rd overall just edging out last years champion Real Time's owner and driver Peter Cunningham.

STaSIS Rookie driver Jeff Courtney also had his strongest performance in World Challenge at Mid Ohio coming from 8th place working his way to 4th past some very impressive names in World Challenge racing. After passing Randy Pobst coming out of the Key Hole Jeff said," The car felt fantastic and it did everything I asked it to do. Chasing down Randy I could tell he was working every last bit out of his car to stay ahead. After several laps I noticed he was really trying to out brake me before the Key Hole and on that last go around he pushed a little too hard and I knew it was my opportunity." Jeff was also awarded the Piloti Rookie of the Race; his second of the season.

"Fast Freddy" Baker was exactly that as he posted the fastest lap of the race at 1:33.915 and worked his way up to 5th after qualifying 9th. Freddy was definitely feeling very comfortable with the freshly paved Mid Ohio track and was at one point as high as 4th in the race. Freddy commented," I felt right at home in the Mahle powered STaSIS A4 as it was set up perfectly, I knew I had a 2nd or 3rd place car under me but the 3 full course yellows did not allow me enough time to get there."

STaSIS Motorsports moves on to round four of the World Challenge series racing next at our home track, Infineon Raceway in Sonoma, California on Sunday June 25, 2006.

Currently
3rd in Manufactures
3rd Chip Herr
7th Jeff Courtney
9th Freddy Baker
1st Rookie of the Year - Jeff Courtney

Race will be televised on SPEED TV, Saturday, May 27th at 8pm EST and Wednesday May 31st at 12pm.

Default Sorry about that....

I've changed the subject line on my earlier post. It was a lot of fun watching the whole team run at Mid-Ohio. Congratulations again!

Default Question is, what changed? The cars obviously had an HP advantage over the Mazdas and Nissans

As the speeds on the straights showed.

I hope the SCCA doesn't reward weight the Audi's right out of contention! That was an very strong showing and unless your name is cadillac, that usually results in a lot of added weight.

Keep up the good work, seriously. Nice to see Audi's up front again!

Default Our motors were the same as they were at Sebring and St Pete. We have done some additional chassis

development work which allowed us more speed out of the corners. Which as you know will result in a faster speed at the end of a straight with the same amount of power.

The suspension set up was just about perfect for Mid Ohio and we no longer have any push issues that we did. The car is just getting dialed in.

Sorry we missed you there. I had a chance to talk with Randy on Saturday. What a class act he is and people like him make the series even better.

See you at infineon?

Default Not planning on much WCT wise this year. RA, that's about it. Happy for you guys!

Randy told me you guys have mad power.

Tripoint changed Randy's set up, ahem, without permission and against his desires. He fought the car all weekend and it was about 85% by the start of the race. He hopes they will have it back to "his" set up by the next race.

2.0T Audi vs 2.3 limited Mazda motor vs 2.4 unlimited Acura motor.

Should prove interesting.

Frankly, I think the SCCA is going to come down hard on you guys. They don't like the underdog winning. The two radar guns on the straights didn't help you guys either.

Best of luck.

Default Who said anything about being an underdog:^)?

I thnk the time and work STaSIS has put into the development of the cars and team over the years is now showing the fruits of that labor.

I personally think it is unwise for SCCA only to have one or two teams that are competitve. It will only hurt the series and lead more fans to Grand AM. They should have a balance in the series.

Who knows what, if anything SCCA will do.

Sorry to hear about Randy's car set up... you could see him fighting it out there. Hopefully Tri Point learns from the mistake... They should listen to Randy, he is one of the best out there and knows what he is doing.

Hope to see you soon!

Default I did.

When certain teams have been at the top for years and years, winning titles and titles, they are favorites. When a team has been in a series for years and years, and not won a title, it's an underdog.

Anyone playing the bulls in the early 90's was an underdog. Same with the 49ers in the Montana days or the Celtics in their hay-day.

Absolutely no offense as intended, but I think you know that.

As for if or what the SCCA will do, I have a strong feeling that they will be putting a bunch of weight in the car. I was told that countless drivers were complaining of audis straight line speed. Radar guns don't lie.

When three cars that have been strong, but not that successful suddenly kick everyones *** and put three in the top six, it catches attention.

When cars that normally didn't have straight line speed on the others suddenly have it in a big way, it catches attention.

Regardless of how or why the cars are so fast, doing so well and winning so decisively gets you reward weight. The idea is for balance, as you noted, and your teams sudden gain will call a lot of attention to you and will cause a mandate of slowing down the cars, regardless of reason.

I absolutely hope you finish at the top, as long as it's not in front of Randy! ; )

Seriously, best of luck and I hope you don't get too penalized.

Cheers,

Mike S
