Show & Tell: My new track car
#12
Was the car at DWW last Monday?
I was there talking to Dave, sitting in some cars, and trying to get a timeline for my 99 project. It's looking like December it will go to Dave for the morph. I didn't see your car, but there was another black NB there that looked very similar.
You going to be at NHIS at all in October? I'd like to meet and go for a ride if there's an open invitation ;^) I'm DYING to get my car out on the track, and have been enjoying driving it for the last month around town.
Who is Ian?

Yes, the car lives at Dave's shop
I don't think I'll be getting to NHIS again this year. The only events left on my calendar are enduro races at the Glen and VIR. I've had a lot of business travel recently and it'll be tough on the homefront to slip in any extra track days that I haven't already put on the calendar.
Be happy to give you a ride next year! Let me know when your car is at Dave's, I'd like to see it. I show up there fairly regularly to keep an eye on cars.
Ian is Ian Prout, who runs SCDA (www.scda1.com).

Will do.
I look forward to meeting you. Thanks again for your SM comments offline a few months ago, and to the rest of you Miata guys here for helping me make a decision on which direction to head in. I'm hoping to go racing in 2009 if I can afford to.
My car is going to DWW just after Thanksgiving and should be there for a month or two. It's a green low mileage 99. Then I get it back and will be installing the Spec suspension, new stock brakes, big radiator and gauges before my first track day next spring.
The price of local events with the SCDA has kept me away ($325/day at LRP), so I have not yet run with that club. However I talked with one of the head guys sometime this summer at a COM event and from his comments it seemed like a good group.

looks to be way too nice for a track/race car. I'm sure you'll be around these guys soon:

NHIS events are cheaper than LRP
We really need a new track or two in New England. There are at least three in various stages of development, but none of them are paving yet so we'll see...

Less interesting but I just got my first track/beater car.
