Default What's diff between Yoko A008 and 032s?

I'm ready to step up to the R compound tires and have narrowed it down to the Yokos and GForce R-1s. They look about equal, so I will probably go w/ the lowest price.<p>Also, there is a special on the Yoko A008 B for $91 a tire, but the A008 A sells for $141, whats the difference between A & B?????????(225/50/16)

Default Did more searching...

On the tirerack website, if you do a search under 225/50/16, the Yokohama A008RS and A008RSII show up. The RSII is designed strictly for AutoX with a compound that heats up quickly for lower lap times while the A008RS is for Road racing. The price difference on the RS seems to be due to load ratings A(higher rating) and B. Both are listed as racing/competition tires. MAYBE THE YOKOHAMA A032 IS THE NEWEST MODEL???

A008 is an antique. It was a fine tire in it's day, but now only a limited production run. The 032 replaced it 4-5(?) years ago. It is a decent tire, too, but barely streetable and pretty heavy for an R-tire.
