Default Titanium is an excellent conductor. IMHO get a real pad...

Any of the serious pads these days have ceramic layer.

Default Well on the track I run carbotech panther xp... is that a real pad:) so I was thinking about

trying to make a heat sink to go between the calaper piston and pad.. then fan out a little.. with little ridges..

my brakes are fine for the track but I am convinced If I can get rid of a little more heat
(by using my brake vents and a heatsink-shild) I can demonstrate spending 2k on brakes is pointless.

they start to fade a little at the end of a session and never glaise.

Default $2k brakes pointless? that's a big challenge you're giving yourself there ;)

unless you strip your car down to 2600 lbs or something...

Default well a sweet set of brembo, apr, stoptech,ap,movit ,tarox is never point less butt i think we can

squeeze a little more performance out out of the stock set up.... I run motul 600, full steel lines, panther xp race pads.

I now have a 2gen prototype brake vent system. now they dont point directily @ the calaper so i thought if i could make a heat sink in between the calaper and pad then I would be all set.

Default I've never been a carbo fan

Pagid full race. Nice ceramic shield. No fade and FAR better mu than the panther. If it is ducted then you don't need anything between the pad and piston.

IMHO. If you look at the numbers, a stock-ducted disk, full-race pagid, DOT 5.1, R-tires and you will kick heiny. The real advantage of the fancy stuff (once you are ducted!) is progressiveness and "feel".

Default what is the compound # on the pagid you use... and 5.1 I have read about it and the diff from

dot 5 what brand do you use? how much. I used the dot 4 motul 600 but that stuff picks up so much water I dont thing it sutable for my needs. I expect to bleed after each event but not @ $10 a bottle. I use dot 3 ford truck fluid now has a dry temp of 550 so for $5 in fluid I just change it.

Default RS14...

The RS15 is supposedly even better, more progressive with a higher mu. They dropped the orange from the line.

The motul 5.1 rocks. It has a 620 something dry temp and a higher wet than the ford dry. Some folks are going a whole season unless they boil. It is a vast improvement over the 600, which is still a great fluid. Any 5.1 is better than 4 by definition.

All of these are cheap compared to that damn SRF.

Default true.. so with the motul 5.1 you dont bleed after each event...

in chicago I gotta bleed the calapers after each event, but only about 2-4oz from each calaper but it removes the mushy feel I always seem to get the day after a track day. I think its becase we have so much water in the air and my system is never really sealed.... i have a pressure release on my resivor cap..

With stock brakes, I think it's normal to bleed after each event. sometimes even DURING.
