Hogan Tire in Woburn mangled my wheels...off to Rim Pro?
#11
I don't want them touching my wheels again, so I'm going to take them to Tewksbury myself.
It's going to cost Hogan Tire $160 per wheel to fix. But since they're aftermarket wheels, they have to match the color, strip and then powdercoat/clearcoat the wheels.

RimPro did my S2000 wheels, but not from a Hogan incident....
The texture of the "painted" area was slightly different to the touch. You couldn't see it, but a microfiber towel would just barely drag on the redone wheels.
But I think you have the 17's, right? So yours would be all silver instead of the silver/polish finish like on my AP1 16's. Might be fine, but I guess I'm warning you to pay attention...maybe our S2000 wheels are challenging and they just aren't telling us beforehand. I'm happy overall as they do look the same, but every time I dry them it bugs me a little.

I have the AP1 wheels, but the 2000/2001 are slightly different than the 2002/2003
I have a 2003. They must have a different finish because they look the same in pics, but parts sites have different part numbers and prices for them. When I bought the car, there was already a little curb rash on both passenger side wheels and a few scuffs on the rear passenger wheel. As long as the 2 on each side match, a suble different from OEM won't bother me. I just ordered 2 new year S02's from tirerack...the pass rear has a slow leak and they are both bald.

yes....the more I think about it, whoever did all that just didn't care
I would also tell them to take the money out of the guys paycheck who did the work. I normally don't like to come down on people, but that just really sucks. Things like those scratches inside the wheel aren't really visible, but you know they are there and that ruins in for you.

Stop by if you want to see them all. The lips got messed up too.
They gave me written authorization to have Rim Pro fix them. But they also told me "no way" when I asked for my $140 back to compensate me for my "pain and suffering"...and gas to Tewksbury and back twice and the headache that this is becoming. He offered to handle the transportation of the wheels, but I said there was no way I would leave these wheels in their care. Plus how would I then be sure that Rim Pro actually fixed them, or if it was "their guy" instead.
I still haven't talked to the owner yet. I dealt with another manager today.
However this may be an opportunity to get the wheels powdercoated whatever color I want them to be. I was thinking anthracite would be cool. They're not an OEM wheel, so Rim Pro said they'd do their best to match the color. So they're most likely NOT going to be the same bronze as they are now.
