If you missed Wednesday's Boston GTG you missed seeing my latest mod.
It's done. It took me a while because I could only work on it in the evenings after work and after getting my son to bed, but the fabrication is finally complete and the custom lower grill is in place.
I followed Eddieman's instructions throughout the process. They were very helpful. I also need to thank A4Rye for the use of his Dremel tool and QuattroKing for selling me his used OEM S4 lower grill so that I could cut it up and make this mod happen.
Here are the final results.

To bad there is some idiot in the background of this shot. I could kill that moron for standing there while that pick was taken. Wait that's me in the background. Wish I could have gotten out of the way before Asian took that pic. Thanks to Asian for these three pics.
Can anyone spot the other minor mod that is also new to my car that is apparent to these pics. A4Rye and Boston Driver, please do not answer this as you know what it is.
Regarding the lower grill mod I would like to add a couple of items that might be helpful to those of you considering performing this mod, specifically regarding the items used to attach the fabricated S4 Lower Grille to the lower bumper.
The nylon screws I used (from Home Depot) were 2" long by 1/4" with matching 1/4" nuts. I don't know if Eddieman did this or not but I cut off the butt end of the screw so that it would fit into the space on the back of the lower grill. The nylon washers I used were 3/8" washers. As I did this part of the mod I realized that the washers are epoxyed to the back of the grill mainly to hold the nylon screws in place as the both the screw and washer become one unit.
After I drilled the holes in the three vertical lower bumper supports brackets it was just a matter of getting the screws through the holes, then using another 3/8" washer to hold the screw in place behing the bumper bracket and then as Eddieman says two 1/4" nuts to hold the grill in place. A 1/4" washer is two small as it will slip into the bumper bracket as you are tightening the screws in place.
The OEM A4 lower frame is attached to the lower bumper seperately and via zip ties. See Eddieman's post for more detail on this part of the mod.
So with the completion of this mod I think that I am coming to the close the cosmetic mods that I will be doing to this A4. I am still considering either doing to the CC mod on my headlights but that is about it cosmetic wise. Time to save up for some new wheels and perhaps an exhaust.
