Default NH Staties and use of radar

Talk about a sleeper cop car. The new Impala looks like a freakin Malibu! Unmarked as well, plain ol silver.. How am I going to notice this face in my rear view mirror? These things got some lame V6 in them, or the V8 303hp police package?

So lots of staties drive around with the constant radar running, basically giving you a few seconds to drop 10 mph back into the safe range as they approach you and consider banging a U turn on ur ***. I noticed the same thing as I pass thru Needham recently, must be a rookie.

http://www.thorstad.com/chev%20cars/07%20Impala.jpg</a

Default with all the anti-speeding BS, how come all cars are not electronically limitted to 65? Why? Simple.

They WANT THE REVENUE from us.

So in the near future, as happening elsewhere, speeding fines will become AUTOMATIC...reported by your own ON-Star like system....

we shall see.

Remember the key thing...
An 18 wheeler at 65mph in the winter, on snow, with 6 retread tires is perfectly LEGAL, but a Chevy Z06 on a bright sunny dry day is a friggen threat to ALL MANKIND at 85 mph.

Or my favorate...a Ford F150 pulling a 20 foot boat (with 12 inch wheels/tires on it, who's wheel bearings have not been greased in 12 years, and the orginal trailer tires yet) traveling at 65 mph in busy summer traffic (hell add some rain and fog) is perfectly safe and LEGAL, but the BMW or MB going 85 mph is a THREAT TO ALL FRIGGEN MANKIND.......

It's the REVENUE baby, that ALL they care about...in Massachusetts, the staties could not give two ****s about your kids in proper car seats until the DAY AFTER the law was passed.

All Feal Good BS. In Europe where there are no speed limits (some roads not all) what is the traffic death rate? Must be HORRIBLE...all those high end sedans and sport coupes driving at more than 100 mph (In traffic), they must all be dead by now.

Rant over...

Mike

Oh, ya the 500 pounder driving the mini van who blew off the "Left Turn Only Lane" for one light, blending it into the Next "left turnonly lane" is an awsome and SAFE driver...oh ya there's no "Radar" gun to catch that kind of BS...oh, and the fine is not high enough to make it worth while to pull over.....

Default I have to say that I think we have it pretty good in MA

I feel like every state I visit on my numerour work trips have had many more speed traps and State Police patrols than we do. I've been pulled over a few times by State Police and they tend to be very profressional, and if treated with respect, often let me go. Not to say I've haven't ran into a pr!ck here and there, but that is very rare. I've actually never been pulled over in a speed trap in MA since I just don't see many of them.

Default Trust me, you don't want the highway fatality rates from Western Europe...

you wouldn't have the stomach for them.

Regardless, the speed limits were instituted in the '70s for energy conservation purposes...had nothing to do with safety.

Stay away from 95N near Newburryport, or 495N near Haverhill at 5-6pm on weekdays then.

Default Yeah, I (non-native) agree with that.

Try NJ. When I lived there the big revenue road nearby was Route 15 north of 80. It was a very new road, with good sightlines, wide lanes, etc. Speed limit 55. Full of speed traps and tickets were issued at 60. It was ridiculous.

Just keep an eye out for the antennas on the trunk, dead giveaway.
