Location: Kingston State Park, Kingston, NH
Date: June 25, 2005
Time: 11am until 5pm or so.

Kingston State Park is located at 124 Main St. in Kingston, NH.

Directions from Boston area:

Take I-93N to I-495N to Route 125N (Exit 51). Take 125N to Rte 111 East. You'll go for a short distance and come to the town center (its a small town so not much of a center). Take any one of the streets on your right to cut across the center. At the stop sign, turn left and the park is on your right - look for a brown wood sign. Now follow the directions for inside the park found below....

From Manchester area:

Take Rte 101 East to Rte 125 South. From Rte 125 South, take Rte 111 East toward Kingston center. You'll go for a short distance and come to the town center (its a small town so not much of a center). Take any one of the streets on your right to cut across the center. At the stop sign, turn left and the park is on your right - look for a brown wood sign. Now follow the directions for inside the park found below....

From Maine and Seacoast area:

Take 95 South to Rte 33 West. Rte 33 to Rte 108 South. Next take Rte 108 South to Rte 111 West. Follow 111 West through Exeter toward East Kingston and Kingston. You will come to the town center of Kingston (its a small town so not much of a center). Take any one of the streets on your right to cut across the center. At the stop sign, turn left and the park is on your right - look for a brown wood sign. Now follow the directions for inside the park found below....

Once at the entrance to the park - stop at the toll booth and hand them your ticket*. Now follow the road all the way to the end and park in the last parking lot - you should be able to see the water/beach area through the trees.

Kingston State Park has tons of picnic tables, swings and slides for the kids, a swimming area and small beach area as well as bath houses for changing, bathrooms etc. They allow you to bring in grills so we'll be grilling up some burgers and dogs. If you want something else you'll have to bring it. Additionally, you can bring in beverages just no glass bottles.

This should be a great time - we've got an area that will support as many as 50 of us so let's put it to good use! I've reserved us this spot with the reservation fee already so we're good to go.

* I will be putting up a ticket/coupon for entrance into the park and posting it on the website. You'll need this ticket to get in at the reduced rate of $2.40 for adults and teens and less for kids. Kids under 5 are free. Without the ticket/coupon you can still get in but will need to pay the full $3 per person.

Kingston State Park is only 14 miles from the New Hampshire seacoast and is close to many attractions such as Canobie Lake Park, The Fox Run Mall, various antique shops, and fine restaurants. The park is 44 acres in size, and includes fireplaces and picnic areas, a playground, softball field, and three game areas for horseshoes and volleyball. Two bathhouses with dressing rooms and flush toilets are available for the 300 feet of swim area, with an extra 100 feet of tree line frontage.

Default Just curious - given that 40 audis showed up last night in a cinema parking lot ...

isn't your limit of 50 cars a bit unambitious as a combined dubs/audi gtg? Sounds great though and I'll definitely put it on the calendar :-)

Had no idea you Audi guys showed up in such large numbers - but the more the merrier. The VW guys from the area are a bit tougher to organize so the reason for the low estimate.

This is also an hour from Boston so the concentration of enthusiasts isn't quite as big - but again, just come on up and have some fun!

http://www.mikeegannh.com/treffenderhamster2005</a

Hey guys - the response from everyone on all of the forums via posts, pms and email has been really good. Because of the response I've decided to make a bit of a change - but for the good.

If you've gone to the TDH 2005 website linked in the first post, you'll see that I set up a Cafe Press shop to help with some of the costs. Here's the change...

. ..since my hope is to make some good come out of this and with the bigger number of people expected I see an opportunity to really help some people out. I've decided that I am going to take on the cost of reserving that area of the park for us entirely and any proceeds from the sale of TDH gear will now go entirely to The Ronald McDonald House Charities. I'm hoping we can raise a nice amount for them while still giving you all a great T-shirt, hat or thong (please no dudes in thongs though). The mark-up on the stuff in the shop is anywhere from $1 to $3 and all of that will go to the charity. So pick up some gear and do something good at the same time!

TDH 2005 Hamster Shop

I'll post the sales numbers for the shop on the Friday before TDH 2005 so everyone will know how much we will be donating.

Please remember, you are under no obligation to buy anything - this is strictly if you feel so moved.

TDH 2005 Shop on Cafe Press
