Default You know, I think Audi's might be bad luck...

First keyed, then headlights stolen... now this. Yesterday I was taking a right hand turn when the a-hole next to me (in the designated Im "going straight lane") decides he wants to take a right hand turn too. He then pulled around me and I of course tried to move my car over and out of the way as quickly as possible... into the curb. This resulted in some pretty extensive curb rash and a blown front tire. Oh freaking great. I pull the car into the nearest parking lot (20 feet away) and get out to asses the situation. I call Evan (who just happened to be down the street) to come give me a hand. I can change a tire... but not in the pouring rain... He starts to loosen the lugs. One of them is on so tight that his body weight on the wrench wont even loosen it! The torque began to warp the lug. Thus, AAA was called to tow the car to the mechanic. Yay. Well, at least I took the oppertunity to have the summer wheels put on. Ill put pics up of the blown tire when I pick the car up this afternoon.

Default It's too late now, but here's a little trick I learned with my A4

Always carry a short shaft from a lacrosse stick. It's real easy to leave in the trunk and doesn't take up any space. Cheap, too. The important part, however, is that it slips over the OEM wrench quite nicely, will give you a much longer lever arm, and is strong enough to handle the torque required for a very stubborn bolt.

Almost thought you were going to suggest beating the daylights out of the a-hole with the lax stick!

Default That sucks. Did you get the guy's plate number? Maybe report to insurance?

If you were not at fault, perhaps they can replace the wheel and tire with $0 deductible.

Not a good week for you and your car ((

Default Ive tired that before.

Went to the PD and unless there is paint on your car to prove that they hit you or something... there is nothing they can do about it.

Yup. No contact means no accident as far as police are concerned.
