I just bought a 2018 Q5 Premium Plus and wonder if there is an option to buy/add the adaptive cruise control feature. And if so, what it will take to do so.

for all practical purposes, no. It's not anything easy to retrofit

That's disappointing and bad design by Audi!! I also own a Tesla. I bought it without the auto pilot feature (auto pilot stage 2), and it very was easy to add that feature afterwards. It took them 30 min to add it to my car.
Does anybody knows a company that can add ACC for Audi in California?

It probably be easier just to trade the car in for one that has it already. It really isn't meant to be retrofitted.
