Refuses To Shift - 6 speed manual
My 2006 A4 Quattro 2.0 with a 6-speed manual will no longer go in gear. I bought the car used about a year and a half ago and it now has just under 156K miles. The problem started two days ago. The clutch still feels normal. My first thought was to change the transmission fluid - I have no idea if the fluid has ever been changed before - but was assured by a mechanic from VIP that old transmission fluid could not be the issue. Any ideas other than the obvious clutch failure?

Not sure about this car so I hate to steer you in the wrong direction as to please ask the question in the model specific forum but is there a electric switch to verthat the pedal is pressed?

Will it go into gear with the engine off? Typically this is a clutch not releasing and thus preventing transmission engagement but if that is the case you should be able to shift into gear with the engine off but when starting the engine the car would try to move even though the clutch is depressed. If it will not go into gear even with the engine stopped, I fear you have a linkage or an internal transmission issue.
