Even though it seems Laser is gaining a stronghold in the CHP, SFPD is still using the old fashioned radar. Driving to an appointment today, the V1 starts bleating its Ka signal driving down 16th, turning onto 7th which is a long straight stretch next to the CalTrain tracks one tends to pick up some speed but the signal intensifies. I stay right on the speed limit and sure enough there is a motorcycle cop peering out between the cars. I smile at him as I go by and by the time I make the light at Townsend he's lighting up the 3 series that was behind me.
The V1 is still well worth the money.

Nice story, P.! SFPD still camps out along a few other stretches.
They're regularly along:
- Sloat Blvd. between 19th Ave. and Sunset Blvd.
- Sunset Blvd. and Wawona (catch you accelerating through the Sloat overpass)
- Park Presidio, coming out of the tunnel off the GG Bridge/Doyle Drive
- Northbound Skyline Blvd. (Daly City PD), on the section after you come off 35
