Cellular micro-climates. ; ) We're in The Village at Squaw, and Cing has a tower on the roof....
...of the building. Made for 5 bars when I used them. Now that I have Verizon, I get 1-2 at best in O Valley. : /

Verizon was the merger of GTE & Bell Atlantic. is your service still marketed as GTE?

Have Cingular. Coverage in the bay area is pretty good.
Especially in the last year. Maybe my Treo 650 just has good reception.
If you go overseas I'm not sure the Verizon will work? The Cingular is GSM... when I was in Grand Cayman earlier this week I had perfect reception, the wifey with Verizon had none. Not sure if that's important.
US-wide, though, Verizon always wins the coverage and customer-service wars. But Cingular for me has not been bad -- way WAY better than Sprint was for me 3 years ago when I ditched it.
