Virgin Cell service/quality. Anyone in the bay area use them?
SBC is dicking me around w/ $99.00 a mo. DSL charges. Their mistake, my burden of wasting hours collectively on hold trying to cancel.
phark'em. I'm getting a cell phone and cable internet.

Be careful with cable internet.
Depending on where you're located, bandwidth will vastly vary depending on usage.
For instance, in college, I ordered comcast cable internet, and while the installer was there, I called and canceled the service. Every fraternity and sorority in Berkeley would use Comcast. During peak usage, I was only getting 300b/s (test at bandwidthplace.com/speedtest), vs the consistent 1.2mbs with SBC.
Shop around, call SBC (making sure you're on their newest promotional offer, etc), and get your bill down to around $30!!
Good luck.

Then they must have upp'd the bandwidth in your area. I remember how much you used to b!tch!
Btw, I can't believe that until I see it.
I could get around 2mb at around 3am that very first day when I still had my connection...but that's not very useful.
1-2pm was the worst.

Comcast is waaaaay better than SBC - I get 9mbps
DSL also depends on location - if you are far from a repeater, it will be slow. Most houses do not suffer from the community slow-down often discussed with cable. Cable has slightly higher latency, but I still get a good ping.
