Default Anyone good with computers, willing to help me out? A reasonable price I would pay

My computer keeps crashing, it runs the chkdsk file while I'm working on it, I have run an antivirus program and nothing comes up, so I dont know what the problem is. I'm not that great with computers so I dont really know what to do besides the antivirus. Anyone can help out? Thanks.

Default Download run adaware. Clear all temp files and clear cache's then see what happens.

You may have a trojan running that's mangling the pc.

Default Install Norton System Works & run diagnostics

Sounds like a hard disk problem. If chkdsk runs let it finish. It can take a long time. You can run it from a command prompt or in the run window as chkdsk /f The /f is for fix. Run Norton disk doctor.

Default I found that Norton System Works caused nothing but problems

when installed. It may be good to fix a problem here or there by running it off the disk but I would never install in on a machine.

Default You could use the restore disk as long as you don't mind loosing any data

you could also call dell and get support from them since you did pay for it with the computer. Not that I think much of Dell's support.

What processes are running on the machine?
CTRL+ALT+DEL and select task manager, then the processes tab. If you post a screen capture of that (ALT+Print Screen), and then paste into MS paint or whatever you have for image editing on your computer, it might be helpful to know what you have running.
