My friend just finished building his new house and since he has a 3 car garage and only two cars we thought it would be a good idea to chip in and install one at his place. He's single so we don't have to worry about bothering a significant other :-)

The electrical goes in next week and I already have some projects planned, I can't wait :-)

Default Raise those door tracks to the ceiling so you can have a car up and door open...

otherwise it'll get stuffy in there, and hot. Unless he has A/C in the garage. Even still, SOMEONE's bound to open the door when there's a car on the lift and cause damage....better safe then sorry.

Default We have A/C and removed the door motor, so it can only be opened from inside...

b/c there is no outside handle. Unless someone really wants to get in that door ;-)

Our next project is to get extension rails so we can raise the door, but it will do for now.

Default We have plans to raise the door after we test it out and see how much room we actually have...

For most jobs we should be OK, but if we want to lift it all the way up, the door will most likely have to be closed.

We already contacted a garage door supply place that will help is figure out exactly what we need to raise the door rails.

Default The price was great, we thought it would be a lot more...

$2400 delivered and installed.

American Automotive Equipment - TP09A

I read about it in European Car, they have it in their project garage.

http://www.americanautomotiveequipment.com/</a
