Default I loathe how OptOnline forces you to use mail.optonline.net to send e-mail...

... every time I bring my laptop out of the house or want to use my iPhone at home, I need to change the SMTP server. Annoying as fvck.

That is all.

Default I use a @mac.com account and use Apple's SMTP server

The key is to use an SMTP server that doesn't use the default port 25. Most often, mail providers make an alternate SMTP port (quite often that also requires authentication). Who is your mail provider? I'm an optonline customer and a computer geek, so I'm more than happy to help.

Default If you subscribe to Boost service, they'll let you host on 80 and 25

They'll even manage DDNS for you.
