Just got back from the NYC Auto Show. A little disappointing
Audi did not have a great presence there. Nice white R8 and S5 but I was hoping for maybe a roped off RS6 etc. Nada. Porsche was alright. GT2 was on display but no 3's. One lonely Ferrari F430 in black.
Surprisingly I liked the Subie STi more than the Evo MR in person. There was no M3 coupe on display but there was a cab and sedan. I hated the pics of the M3 but in person the hood scoop is really not that significant (in pics I think the hood looks like an old Dodge Roadrunner). I think I would get an M3 now that I've seen them in the person.
And I have to say that while its performance may be awesome I really don't like the GT-R. Nissan makes a point that unlike the Skylines, the new car is its own design but then couldn't that design have been attractive? And actually, as far as it being its own original design, after spending time in the Nissan area, the GT-R makes me think that Nissan took a modified 350Z front end and welded it onto the back end of an Altima or Maxima. To me, it seems like the person designing the front of the car did not communicate with the person designing the back.
Of note: A Bently Conti GT was involved in an accident on the Westside Hwy along back of the Javits. Fairly minor but I thought I'd mention it anyway.

Ive decided to skip NYC and just go to Greenwich Concours
They have all the brands I want to see anyway, new, and there's no punk kids in the way of me sitting in a 911. Yes at Greenwich Concours you can sit in th 911, its not locked. Same for Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes, Maserati, MINI, Volvo etc...
Plus all the classics around to look at.

Why bother waiting for the Greenwich Concours?
If you want to sit in a 911 / Aston Martin, Audi, Mercedes, Ferrari, Bentley etc... Just drive down putnam avenue to where all the dealers are...
Most of them don't even give you the time of day anyway, so you're free to sit in them without anybody hassling you...

No GT3's because Porsche no longer makes them....
Were there any B8's in the Audi display? Someone told me they had the B8 S4 there, is that true?
How about any cool concept cars?
